IMCS-Pax Romana was created in 1947 and has members in more than 54 countries from every continent. IMCS is a social movement for empowerment, advocacy and solidarity for a peaceful, equitable and sustainable world.
Project description:
The project gathered Catholic and Muslim students from selected countries for a training session, that focused on promoting mutual respect and acceptance between the younger generation. In order to achieve the broad aim of the session, the IMCS worked towards the following study session goals: 1) Investigate different perspectives of the roles of faith in society, and the effects of society on religious identity; 2) Identify the areas of concern, apprehension, misunderstanding, etc. in regards to conversations involving faith traditions; 3) Develop a set of general guidelines and tools necessary for a fruitful dialogue. The study sessions took place in Egypt, Tanzania and Canada, and approximately 20-30 local university students were present during each session.
