Project description:
The aim of the “Project Worldview” project was to promote intercultural understanding and dialogue between youth in Nigeria, Benin and Gabon, and to create a global learning environment for the youth to share their ideas and solutions for the problems they were facing. The project consisted of two types of activities: a Global Village and an 8 week long learning-program. The Global Village was arranged with the aim to showcase the strength and richness of diversity within the communities. It was attended by 300 youth in Benin, 900 youth in Nigeria and 200 in Gabon. The 8 week long learning-program enabled the participants to appreciate each others culture, religion, tribe and nationality. The trainings aimed to empower the participants to become better leaders by fostering friendly relations with people from different cultures. A total of 2240 participants were trained. One of the project managers concluded; “..By promoting intercultural dialogue AIESEC successfully implemented “Project Worldview” in 3 West African countries. The results have championed many other ideas, which wouldn’t be achievable if the UNAOC had not taken the bold step to believe in us, contribute immensely to our initiative, and provide un-quantifiable guidance & support.”
