UNAOC will be participating in the 12th Summit Meeting of the Global Forum on Migration and Development (GFMD) in Quito, Ecuador, 20-24 January.
GFMD Summit meetings offer the largest multi-stakeholder space for Member States to discuss ways to improve migration policies and develop ideas and concrete partnerships.
As an observer of the GFMD, UNAOC developed and drafted a background paper for Roundtable 2.2. of the Summit Meeting on the theme, “Communicating effectively with migrants,” co-chaired by the Gambia, the Philippines, and the United Arab Emirates. This Roundtable is part of GFMD’s Substantive Priority 2: “Migration narratives and communication: What role, responsibility, and resources do governments have?”
UNAOC will present the background paper at the Summit Meeting.
