This conference on globalization and minority people is opened to researchers coming from all fields of study as well as activists working on various concerns in the field of ethnic studies at the local, national or international levels.
The purpose of this conference on the link between globalization and “minor” cultural groups is to bring to the forefront of global studies these new perspectives that address the relationship between globalization and the experiences of cultural minorities worldwide. It is urgent to take into account perspectives of cultural groups that prove crucial in the necessary process of questioning contemporary global values and practices and complicating current debates on the causes, consequences, future of globalization processes in the fields of politics, education, culture, the economy, etc.
The conference will take place at the University of Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines (in the Guyancourt buildings) between the 19th and the 21st of June, 2013. Paper proposals are expected before the 28th of February, 2013 and should be sent to sophie.croisy[AT]uvsq.fr and roxana.bauduin[AT]uvsq.fr; and for other questions about the conference, please e-mail Sophie Croisy [sophie.croisy[AT]uvsq.fr] Maître de conférences UVSQ.
