Spanish partner Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) has received a European Commission contract for a project on “Access to and Academic Success of Vulnerable Groups in Dangerous Environments in Latin America.” The project will be coordinated by the UAB Organisational Development Team (EDO) led by Dr. Joaquín Gairín Sallán.
The project, developed in collaboration with 12 other universities (with additional participation of 11 other universities, from a total of 22 countries), aims to improve levels of inclusion and retention of vulnerable or disadvantaged groups in universities in Latin America.
In addition to UAB, which acts as the coordinating institution, the ESC Rennes School of Business (France) and the University of Bergamo (Italy) will also participate from the part of Europe. From Latin America, some of the participating institutions are: Catholic University of Argentina (Argentina), Catholic University de Bolivia (Bolivia), University of Talca (Chile), University of Cienfuegos “Carlos Rafael Rodríguez” (Cuba), Catholic University of Paraguay (Paraguay), Catholic University of Peru (Peru), University ORT of Uruguay (Uruguay), University of Los Andes (Venezuela), Autonomous University of Tabasco (Mexico) and Specialized University of the Americas (Panama). The project has also received support from the Organisation of Latin American States, the Ministry of Education of Uruguay, the Ministry of Education of Cuba, RedAGE and various Latin American universities.
