The Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) has released its Fourth OIC Observatory Report on Islamophobia (Intolerance and Discrimination against Muslims). The report was presented at the 38th Council of Foreign Ministers (OIC) that met in Astana, Kazakhstan, June 28-30, 2011.
Covering the period of May 2010 to April 2011, the report includes manifestations of Islamophobia in the the US and Europe, positive developments, the human rights framework to address Islamophobia, actions taken by the OIC, and some conclusions and recommendations.
One of the annexes included in the report (pp. 64-68) describes the discussion at the UN Alliance of Civilizations III Forum Roundtable on ““Addressing Islamophobia: Building on Unused Opportunities for Mutual Respect and Inclusion, held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on May 27, 2010.
