Geneva, 5 December 2017 – In celebration of the Human Rights Day, the United Nations Alliance of Civilization (UNAOC) and the ONUART foundation in partnership with the United Nations in Geneva are co-organizing the Human Rights Concert. It will take place on the 9th of December in the Chamber of Human Rights and Alliance of Civilization at the Palais des Nations in Geneva.
The musical program focuses on German great classical composers (Handel, Beethoven and Strauss). It will be interpreted by the Symphony Orchestra of the Gran Teatre del Liceu of Barcelona, the renowned Soprano Ms. Erin Wall, Mezzosoprano Ms. Huiling Zhu and led by the famous conductor Josep Pons. Prominent personalities from the political, financial, artistic and cultural spheres will be in attendance.
This concert will celebrate the promotion of peace, the defense of Human Rights around the world, and will pay tribute to all the victims of the recent terrorist attacks that took place around the world. As a universal language, art is indisputably an instrument of fostering dialogue, tolerance and peace among the different cultures, civilizations and religions.
The musical event will be followed by a Gala dinner at the Intercontinental Hotel.
