Statement Attributable to the Spokesperson for the
High Representative for the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations
On the recent terrorist attacks in Germany, Jordan, Yemen and Turkey

The High Representative for the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations, Mr. Nassir Abdulaziz Al-Nasser is appalled by the recent terrorist attacks which took place in the past few days in Berlin, Amman, Aden and Kayseri. He strongly condemns these heinous and barbaric attacks on innocent people including soldiers describing them as senseless and an unjustifiable criminal acts regardless of their motivation.
The High Representative notes that despite efforts made, certain ideological mindsets continue to project their uncivilized face in our world. Yet, these vicious forces should not hamper our efforts nor dissuade our political will to prevent and combat violent extremism, discrimination and xenophobia in all its forms.
Mr. Al-Nasser re-iterates the commitment of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations to continue to work on promoting tolerance and understanding as well as strengthening the culture of peace among all people, regardless of the race, color, language or faith.
The High Representative extends his deepest sympathies to the victims’ families and to the people and the Governments of Germany, Jordan, Yemen and Turkey.
