What:
The United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) and the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the United Nations are co-organizing a high-level panel discussion entitled “Promoting Peaceful and Inclusive Societies for Sustainable Development through Intercultural and Interreligious Dialogue” on Thursday, 26th of September, 11:00-12:00 PM at the United Nations in New York, on the margins of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
Why:
The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development provides a shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the future. The Pact for the Future, adopted at the Summit of the Future on 23 September 2024, emphasizes the importance of promoting culture and intercultural and interreligious dialogue as part of collective actions to strengthen social cohesion and accelerate the achievement of a wide array of sustainable development goals.
This high-level panel will explore perspectives on implementing the commitments outlined by the international community in the Pact for the Future.
