WHAT:
The United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) will hold the annual ceremony of their joint initiative, the PLURAL+ Youth Video Festival, on Friday, 15 December, at 4 pm EST (New York time).
This year, a total of 24 short films from 18 countries (Belgium, Brazil, Republic of Cameroon, France, Germany, Guatemala, Iraq, Kenya, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, Republic of Korea, Spain, United Kingdom, United Republic of Tanzania, United States of America) were selected by UNAOC, IOM, as well as 20 partner organizations.

The event will take place at the Trusteeship Council Chamber (TCC) of the United Nations Headquarters in New York, USA. It will also be broadcast live on the PLURAL+ website through the following link:

WHY:
The PLURAL+ Youth Video Festival was launched in 2009 as a joint initiative of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM). In a world often characterized by intolerance and cultural divisions, the PLURAL+ Youth Video Festival recognizes youth as powerful agents of social change and empowers them to foster respect for diversity.
With the support of a network of more than 50 partner organizations, PLURAL+ recognizes young media makers from all over the world for short films that focus on the themes of migration, social inclusion, diversity and combating xenophobia to promote respect and understanding.
WHO:
The spotlight will be on the 24 young filmmakers from 18 different countries who will be recognized for their powerful and thought-provoking short films.
