The Terrorist Attacks in Iraq and The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
New York – 4 July, 2016
The High Representative for the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC), Mr. Nassir Abdulaziz Al-Nasser deplores the outrageous wave of terrorist attacks which took place yesterday and today in Iraq and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at a time when millions of Muslims around the world are celebrating the last days of the Holy month of Ramadan.
These cowardly attacks that resulted in the deaths of many innocent people including civilians and officers are criminal acts that are unjustifiable wherever and by whomsoever committed. He notes that terrorism does not distinguish between religion, race , language or ethnicity and therefore it poses a threat to international peace and security. Such barbaric acts will fuel more hatred and violence undermining all efforts that aim at promoting peace, diversity, tolerance and understanding which are the core mission of UNAOC.
On behalf of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations, the High Representative expresses his deepest sympathies and condolences to the peoples and Governments of Iraq and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as well as to the families of the victims.
