The Milena Jesenska Fellowships at the Institute for Human Sciences (IWM) Vienna, Austria, offers European cultural journalists (incl. the Caucasus region) time off from their professional duties to pursue in-depth research on a topic of their choice. Proposals related to one of the Institute’s main research fields are highly encouraged (pls see http://www.iwm.at/research.htm).
They are geared towards experienced journalists, applications by entry-level journalists or students will not be accepted. Fellows will spend 3 months at the IWM in Vienna and receive a stipend of EUR 7,500 in total to cover all expenses related to the stay in Austria. In addition, the IWM provides them with a personal office incl. internet, administrative and research facilities as well as other services free of charge.
Travel grants of up to EUR 1,900 can be paid for research trips. All details of application are available at this site.
