The deadline for applications for the Intercultural Innovation Award 2012 is fast approaching: October 10, 2012 is the closing date for all applicants. The cooperation project launched by the BMW Group and the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) honors ten non-profit organizations every year, thus strengthening both partners’ joint efforts to foster intercultural understanding and peaceful coexistence among communities globally. The total prize pool is USD 100,000.
The BMW Group and the UNAOC would especially like to encourage applications from organizations that have a track record in managing intercultural projects, that pursue their goals in a sustainable and creative manner and that aim to develop their project closely with the BMW Group and the UNAOC. The five best finalists will receive active support during one year. An individualized needs assessment shall ensure the lasting success of their projects. This is done with the assistance of a Mentorship Group..
In December, an international jury consisting of academics, experts and practitioners will choose ten finalists from all submissions and invite them to participate in the Awards Ceremony. The gala will be a highlight of the Fifth Forum of the UNAOC that will take place in Vienna on February 27 and 28, 2013 in presence of Heads of State and International Organizations.
