The Border Crossing Observatory at UNAOC Research Network Partner Monash University provides high quality, independent research on border crossings. With a focus on the complex process of border crossings and the implications of crime and justice, the aim of the Observatory is to enhance scholarly and public policy debates at local, regional and international levels. The Australian Border Deaths Database from 2000-September 2012 has been established to record deaths at the Australian border. Currently, the database records deaths at the Australian frontier for the period 1 January 2000 -25 September 2012. It will be periodically updated.
