Papers are invited for this research seminar on 25th June, 2012, at Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Ramon Trias Fargas 25-27, 08005 Barcelona. This is a joint project of the GRITIM-UPF – Interdisciplinary Research Group in Immigration of the Universitat Pompeu Fabra and the MIGCITPOL (Migration, Citizenship and Political Participation) Standing Group of the IMISCOE network (International Migration, Integration and Social Cohesion.
While a detailed CFP may be found here, in summary workshop contributions are invited to address the normative framework of a theory of diverse representation, taking into account the different approaches to citizenship, political inclusion and representation in various European states.
Applications:
Proposals should be sent to gritim(at)upf.edu and sarah.cooke(at)upf.edu specifying “GRITIM-UPF/IMISCOE SEMINAR 2012” as a subject.
Proposals should be in English and should include:
− Short CV (max. 200 words)
− Institution and area of research
− Title (max. 10 words)
− Abstract (max. 450 words)
Deadlines:
Proposals must be sent before the 30th March, 2012. Notification of acceptance will be confirmed by the 16th of April, 2012. Final papers should be sent by the 18th of June, 2012.
Please note that a selection of papers will be taken into consideration for potential publication. Participants are therefore recommended to hand in relatively advanced work. English will be the working language.
Funding:
The IMISCOE Standing Committee on Migration, Citizenship and Political Participation (MIGCITPOL) hopes to be able to subsidize travel and/or accommodation for those participants who do not have any other funds and could not attend the conference if their costs were not covered.
