This conference is organised by the Faculty of Shariah and Law, Sultan Sharif Ali Islamic University, 11th & 12th April 2012, Rizqun International Hotel, Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei.
It is intended to build an understanding of women’s rights in Islam and in the participating countries, in addition to removing non-Islamic elements that affect the implementation of relevant laws.
Objectives:
- To facilitate a dialogue to discuss and deliberate on the issues of Muslim women’s rights in the contemporary social order;
- To provide scholars, clerics, academicians, experts and interested parties a forum to express and share their views through their research findings on various rights of the Muslim women;
- To identify the challenges faced by Muslim women and to brainstorm possible solutions to those challenges; and
- To foster individual and institutional cooperation and collaboration amongst scholars and academicians, and between Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali and other institutions, internationally.
