PAN AFRICAN SOCIAL SCIENCE REVIEW JOURNAL (PASSR) is an interdisciplinary, and peer reviewed journal which provides an inter-disciplinary forum in the social sciences from a critical and Pan African Perspective. All disciplines within the social sciences are acceptable frameworks for articles, but papers, which cut across conventional academic boundaries, are especially encouraged.
Article submissions are invited for a special edition of the PASSR. The theme of the special edition is “Gender issues and Development in Africa”. Sub themes include, but are not limited to the following:
• Gender and feminist theorising
• Gender and the Environment
• Gender and Agriculture
• Gender and Education
• Gender and Politics,
• Gender and Crime
• Gender and Health
• Gender and Economics
• Gender and War/conflict
• Gender and violence
The above sub themes are intended suggestions, and papers relating to gender are solicited in order to create a space for stimulation, improvement, and transformation in Africa.
GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSION
All articles submitted must be original works and should not be under consideration for publication elsewhere. All articles should be within the range of 6,000 to 10,000 words, although longer papers may be submitted for shortening at the discretion of the Editor. It should include an abstract of not more than 250 words. A maximum of 5 key words should be provided with the article. All submission should have the title of the article with the name of the author (s) on a separate sheet. The name(s) of the author(s) should not be mentioned within the article. Manuscripts should be prepared according to the current publication manual of the American Psychological Association (APA style and formatting). Closing date of submission is May 30, 2011. To ensure effective distribution, publication of PASSR is done twice a year (April and October). Our policy is to inform author(s) of the decision on their manuscripts within 4 weeks of the closing date of submission. This special edition will be published in October by CIM publishers in the United Kingdom
